Description

This 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster was delivered new in Augsburg, Germany to an English school teacher in late 1957 and was later imported to the US, where it was purchased in 1992 by racing driver and Willow Springs raceway founder Robert Kirby. Power is provided by a 912-sourced 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ wheels, 356C four-wheel disc brakes, a 200mm flywheel and clutch, and a Bursch stainless exhaust system. Service performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change and brake fluid flush along with performing a compression test.

Delivered from the factory in Ruby Red, the car was refinished in its current shade of red in the 1980s. A replacement black soft top has been fitted and is shown in its raised and lowered positions in the gallery. Additional equipment includes color-matched bumpers with chrome overriders, dual sideview mirrors, a single-grille engine lid, gold badging, and quad exhaust outlets. Chrome 15″ wheels wear Porsche-crest hubcaps and 205/50 Dunlop Direzza ZIII tires. Koni Classic shocks have been added, and braking is handled by 356C four-wheel discs.

The interior features fixed-back bucket seats upholstered in black along with a matching-color dash pad and door panels. Coco Mats lines the footwells, and square-weave carpeting covers the kick panels, sills, seat backs, center tunnel, and rear-cabin cargo area.

All prices are plus tax, title, licensing and a $200 negotiable documentary service fee. Vehicles are subject to availability.
