Description

The car is finished in Pale Primrose Yellow with a black soft top over matching vinyl upholstery, and additional features include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, exposed headlights, four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears, and polished knock-off wire wheels. Maintenance within the last year is said to have included replacement of the radiator, thermostat, ignition wires, camshaft covers, brake master cylinder, and rear calipers. The Series 1.5 XKE featured early-style taillights mounted above the rear bumper as well as exposed headlights that were similar to the Series 2 models. This example is finished in Pale Primrose Yellow, and exterior features include a louvered hood, a black soft top, and dual central exhaust outlets. The windshield washer reservoir and pump were reportedly replaced during current ownership, and the windshield wiper motor has also been rebuilt.

The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets protected by rubber Jaguar-branded floor mats. LED bulbs have been added to the dash, and amenities include a central arm rest, a locking glovebox, rocker switches for vehicle functions, and an analog clock that was reportedly rebuilt and converted to use a AAA-size battery in 2017.

A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer that was rebuilt in 2015. A quartet of auxiliary gauges in the center console include displays for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors that were reportedly overhauled in 2015. Additional work at that time is said to have included flushing the fuel tank and replacing the fuel sending unit and the clutch release cylinder. A Lucas fuel pump was installed in 2017, the starter and alternator were rebuilt in 2018 and Series I-spec camshaft covers were installed that same year, and the cooling system was overhauled in 2020 with an aluminum radiator, rebuilt fan motors, and a replacement thermostat and temperature sensor.
