Description

This 1956 Porsche 356A Speedster was acquired by the current owner in 1998, reportedly from the previous owner of 20 years. The car is finished in burgundy over tan upholstery, and power comes from a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four sourced from a 1965 Porsche 912 paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include gold exterior badges, teardrop taillights, fixed-back bucket seats, and headlight stone guards.

Delivered from the factory in Signal Red, the car is said to have been repainted in its current burgundy lacquer in 1980. Features include headlight stone guards, gold badges, a Reutter badge attached to the right-front fender, a low windshield, body-color bumpers with chrome overriders, a single side-view mirror, teardrop taillights, dual exhaust outlets, and a single engine lid vent.

The tan soft top is said to have been installed in 1999 and features matching side curtains and can be seen up close in the gallery. The 15″ chrome ventilated wheels wear hubcaps with color Porsche crests, and they are mounted with Michelin XZX radial tires. A matching wheel with a polished baby moon hubcap is mounted in the front trunk.

The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was installed under previous ownership. Engine stamping *742615* can be seen in the gallery and corresponds to a Type 616/36 engine built in 1965 for a Porsche 912.

All prices are plus tax, title, licensing and a $200 negotiable documentary service fee. Vehicles are subject to availability.
