Description

This 1952 MG TD was refurbished under previous ownership by Antique Auto Restoration in Seaside, California. Refinished in silver with a tan soft top over red leather upholstery, the car is powered by a rebuilt 1.3-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The frame, suspension, steel wheels, and hubcaps were also refinished, and the rear differential and dual carburetors were rebuilt.

The car was disassembled in 2011, and work over the following three years included replacement of the floors, a repaint in silver with red grille slats, and fitment of a tan soft top. Hardware, bracketry, and other parts were refinished in black, and the brightwork was detailed and polished before reassembly. The finish and trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.

The steel wheels were refinished in silver and wear chrome hubcaps with colored MG-stamped centers along with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Suspension components were media-blasted before being sealed and refinished in semi-gloss black, and the bushings, shock mounts, and brake lines were replaced in addition to other components detailed in service records presented in the gallery.

Approximately $177k in service records from work performed by Antique Auto Restoration between August 2011 and July 2014.
